Who is the HIV Cancer Care Team?
The HIV Cancer Care Team includes providers from LSUHSC and NO AIDS Task Force. The Community Advisory Board is comprised of community members who provide feedback and suggestions on the direction and goals of the HIV Cancer Care Program.
Why do we need the HIV Cancer Care Program?
The risk of cancer is higher in people living with HIV/AIDS. Many cancers occur at a much younger age and are diagnosed at a late stage of illness. Cancer is one of the most common causes of illness and death in persons living with HIV/AIDS.
How can state-of-the-art clinical trials improve health care outcomes for patients?
Clinical trials offer high-quality cancer care. This may be as good as, or better than currently approved treatments.
